“In the early 90’s a dozen companies, armed with very little money, a lot of hard work and a refusal to fail, rose from the ashes of the recession to become the established brands you know today. Now, in the greatest economic hardship our planet has seen since The Great Depression, it seems history is repeating itself. New companies and new projects are surfacing weekly. Trajectory is our way of introducing to you these initiatives as well as the people who have the courage to throw caution in the wind and not be afraid to have it blow back and hit them square in the teeth. Here is Broadcast part two.” — Steve Berra

Documentation: John Cardiel
August 11, 2010“Nearly 15 years ago I came across a photo of Cards in the magazine (I think it was Thrasher, but I could be wrong) where he was holding this mourning dove and had a big grin in typical Cardiel style. It was awesome and really stuck out to me so I tried to redraw it back when I was first learning to draw portraits. John Cardiel was one of my favorite skaters then, and he still is today. It’s obvious that this rendition was from my sloppy memory… and for some reason I took the liberty of adding braces to his already well-arranged grill. Maybe I had braces at the time? I’m kind of embarrassed at how I drew him and that I don’t even remember who took the photo but I still think it’s kind of cool.” — Kelly D. Williams
Two Good Art Shows, One Night: Pray You’re in L.A.
February 19, 2010Hopefully you’ll be in the Los Angeles area tomorrow night to catch the eclipse of two really rad art shows. You don’t need to be an art snob to enjoy the work that will be hanging on the walls at New Image Art Gallery for the 2THEWALL group exhibit, and Clint Peterson is certainly gaining a foothold in the art world while still remaining one of the most hard working skaters in the biz. Click the flyer image for details on time and location of these two exhibits. |
