Danny Falla In 5Boro’s South American Vacation

April 11, 2011

“South American Vacation” is only a fitting description for those whose other option is filming on bitterly cold late winter days in NYC. Danny Falla joined the rest of the 5boro team on their latest tour below the waistline of the American continent. They pillaged Peru, Colombia, and Chile. Filmed and edited by Tombo Colabraro.

14 Tries & 14 Years: Aaron Harrison For Broadcast

March 23, 2011

Fourteen years ago, Zero Skateboards released the instant hit video Thrill Of It All (1997). Despite the great lineup on the Zero team, the comparatively unknown Aaron Harrison had one of the most talked-about parts in the whole video. If you’ve seen it, you know exactly what we’re referring to. The munificent BS 180s, the high speed bank bombs, the cranium-bonk-to-viewer-cringe, and of course the notorious 14 attempts at the shipping container ollie to bank. The Who turned down the volume on their serenading amps just enough to allow the sound of Aarons fortitude push him to the 15th try and make. Call the doctor…

Introducing International Rider Eirik Svensen

March 10, 2011

The cat is out of the bag, or katten er ute av sekken according to Google Translate. It is true, we have secret weaponry in Norway. We think you will enjoy this video of our newest Broadcast Correspondent slaying the streets like some kind of heavy Norwegian black metal. Filmed by Jan K. Haaland. If you are on one of those mobile devices, click here. Welcome to the team, Eirik.

DIY Week in San Diego

November 24, 2010

The fine gents at TypicalCulture.com have just put up the latest documentation of DIY Week, which is much better than Shark Week. Lots of good shredding went down in the shadows of SD County. Click here for more shredding from Shane Cox (photo below by Brian Walnum) and Connor Getzlaff.

Broadcast Yo Self: Marcell Herd (OCTOBER CHAMPION)

October 26, 2010

Marcell has class (check the nonchalant adjustment of the spectacles after each trick,) and enough of it that he stood out to become the October winner of Broadcast Yo Self!. We basically sift through our submissions each month (to submit, simply send us your YouTube or Vimeo link on this page and put “RADCAST” in the subject line) and choose one unlucky brute to partake in the awesomeness that will be known throughout cyber eternity as Broadcast YoSelf. It’s certainly not going to make anybody famous, but we all enjoy some skate inspiration. In addition to the dishonor of appearing on thisisabroadcast.com, the winning skater each month will likely start getting phone calls from potential department store sponsors and babes in burlap bikinis. Check back in a few to see next month’s winner. Ya herd?

Shiloh Greathouse and The Killing Moon

June 3, 2010

To this day, people still talk about how inspiring this video part is. If you haven’t already seen it (or even if you have), we suggest you grab a glass of Ovaltine, kick back, and watch one of the nicest guys in skateboarding destroy a surplus of spots. Shiloh Greathouse is one cool cat. Footage courtesy of Transworld Media.
